AR - Aspect Ratio
The aspect ratio (AR) tells you the most about the orientation of the foil and is the first point of reference when choosing a front wing.
AR is the ratio between surface area and wingspan.
Overall, foils with a low to medium airfoil ratio (AR) are slightly thicker and rounder. They are more stable, turn and pivot well, have plenty of lift, and help you launch easily at low speeds or in light winds. Kites with a high AR are thinner and longer, and therefore generate less drag. They are very efficient and offer excellent glide performance and speed.
The higher the AR value, the better the foil's performance for experienced riders and the farther it can fly. However, it also requires a higher minimum speed to get planing and generate lift. The AR also affects the turning radius of each foil. With the same surface area, a higher AR allows for wider turns. Finally, there is also a relationship between the wave duration and the airfoil's AR. The longer the wave period, the higher the AR is needed.
The F-ONE Foil Program
The F-ONE Foil program is divided into four AR levels:
The AR 5 is the most accessible and is recommended for learning to foil.
The AR 6.0 is the most versatile and powerful. Its medium wingspan guarantees maneuverability while surfing and easy pumping.
Choosing an AR 7.0 increases your maximum speed and glide ratio. However, the additional wingspan comes at the expense of maneuverability.
The AR of 9.0 and above is reserved for experienced riders. It offers incredible gliding performance when you maintain sufficient speed and still delivers good maneuverability under 1000cm².
F-ONE Foil Range Product Descriptions
GRAVITY Foil
The F-ONE GRAVITY Foil is the entry-level foil with an AR of 5.0. Easy to handle, stable, and with excellent lift, the GRAVITY Foil will perfectly support your progress in wing foiling. Available in two versions: Carbon and FCT.
The Gravity FCT is significantly cheaper and therefore ideally suited for getting started in the world of wing foiling. The Gravity Carbon offers slightly better performance and is considerably lighter.

PHANTOM Foil
Once you're confident on the foil and looking for more performance and planing ability, the F-ONE PHANTOM (AR 6.0) is the next step. It's a versatile foil that performs well in all disciplines. The medium wingspan guarantees power, maneuverability while surfing, and efficient pumping. Everyone should have a PHANTOM foil in their kite. Also available in PHANTOM Carbon and PHANTOM FCT versions.
SEVEN SEAS Foil
If you're looking for even more glide and speed with improved upwind performance, then the F-ONESEVEN SEAS is perfect for you. With an AR value of 7.5, it's ideal for surfing in the swell, downwind foiling, or as a light-wind foil. The optimized design of the SEVEN SEAS ensures minimal drag and reduces the effort required to stay upwind. This foil is easy to ride and performs well in virtually any condition.
SK8 Foil
The F-ONE SK8 foil , with an AR of 8.0, was designed for surfing. Offering plenty of glide and speed combined with fantastic maneuverability, this foil lets you carve dream lines and takes your surfing to the next level. The SK8 foil allows you to carve tight turns and apply significant pressure to the foil while maintaining complete control.
Free surfing and efficient pumping are guaranteed with the F-ONE SK8 thanks to its perfect balance between maneuverability and planing ability. Its unique speed also makes it a perfect foil for surfing offshore swells and shorebreaks with a wing.
EAGLE Foil
With an AR of 9.5, the F-ONE EAGLE lets you fly incredibly far and fast. The thin profile creates minimal resistance on the foil, allowing the EAGLE to glide seemingly endlessly.
Whether freeflying or downwind, you'll be able to fly faster, farther, and longer than with any other F-ONE foil. Thanks to the EAGLE's stability, you can fully concentrate on your foiling experience.
The F-ONE EAGLE is quite easy to ride, but requires a bit more experience to unlock its full potential. Once you become one with the EAGLE foil, it will transform your session and absolutely thrill you. This foil allows you to use the swell in many new ways. Every chop suddenly becomes surfable, letting you experience the ocean even more intensely.
