Even though your board, wing, and foil are the core of your equipment, you shouldn't skimp on accessories – they make wing foiling safer, more comfortable, and more practical. A leash is an absolute must-have: it connects you to the board and prevents it from flying away in case of a fall. A robust impact vest also protects your upper body and provides extra buoyancy. For colder days, a high-quality wetsuit is recommended to keep you warm and flexible. Also important: a helmet, a pump with a pressure gauge, a suitable board bag for transport, and foil covers, if needed, to protect your equipment from scratches. In short: the right accessories complete your wing foiling setup – and ensure you feel completely comfortable on the water.
To ensure you enjoy your equipment for a long time, you should maintain your wingfoil gear regularly. Rinse your board, wing, foil, and accessories thoroughly with fresh water after every session – especially if you've been on saltwater. Make sure no sand or salt residue remains in any joints or Velcro fasteners to prevent wear and tear. Dry all parts well before storing them – ideally in a shady, well-ventilated place. The wing should be stored loosely rolled up and not compressed too tightly to protect the material.
