Before you glide across the water, you need to learn some wing foiling basics and internalize fundamental movements. At first, everything might feel unfamiliar, but with a little practice, you'll quickly gain confidence. Here are the most important wing foiling basics and techniques that you should know as a beginner:
1. The correct stance on the wing foil board
When wing foiling for beginners, it's important to do proper balance training with your wing foil. Stand in the middle of your wing foil board, hold the wing slightly above you, and use it for stabilization.
2. Hold the wing correctly
The wing usually has handles or a boom. Hold it loosely but firmly. Depending on how you tilt it, you'll get more or less propulsion.
3. The water start in wing foiling
Unlike kitesurfing, you don't need a huge amount of strength to get on the board. First, kneel down, align the wing, and then slowly stand up. Once you've gained speed, the exciting part begins: the foil lifts you out of the water!
4. Running and controlling altitude
At first, you'll drift more than steer. No worries – that happens to everyone! Over time, you'll learn how to gain height with the foil. To do this, shift your weight slightly forward or
rear.
